Corfu Hospital Faces Critical Shortage of Physicians

The Union of Public Hospital Doctors in Corfu has submitted a memorandum to the local Prosecutor’s office, highlighting urgent issues in the hospital’s Pathology Clinic. Currently staffed by only two doctors, the clinic is severely understaffed, with the ideal requirement being nine. This situation raises concerns over patient safety and the wellbeing of the medical staff. The Union emphasizes the need for competitive financial incentives to attract more medical professionals, as the existing offers fail to meet market demands.
