A broad inter-ministerial teleconference took place to address urgent water supply solutions for Corfu, attended by key officials including the Deputy Minister for Island Policy, Stefanos Gikas. The meeting emphasized advancing desalination efforts at Chrysiida to enhance water capacity while a working group will restart the paused project caused by Thessaly floods. Concurrently, hydrogeological studies will assess groundwater conditions, and alternative methods will be explored in light of climate change impacts on dam projects. Future discussions are planned to address local water utility challenges, including debt and modernization needs.
