Lina Mendoni, Greece’s Minister of Culture, visited the Hamza Bey Mosque, also known as Alkazar, in Thessaloniki to oversee the ongoing restoration funded by approximately €11 million from the Recovery Fund. The complex project aims to preserve the mosque, which has undergone significant alterations over the years. Mendoni emphasized the government’s commitment to restoring important monuments in Northern Greece and mentioned that the restoration will enhance the city’s cultural heritage.
