Cyclone Chido Causes Widespread Devastation in Mozambique and Surrounding Regions
Cyclone Chido has wreaked havoc across southeastern Africa, resulting in the destruction of over 62,000 homes and more than 76 fatalities in Mozambique. The storm has impacted around 380,000 people, with urgent needs for shelter and food reported by the International Organization for Migration. Additionally, Malawi recorded 13 deaths from the cyclone, and Mayotte reported 35 fatalities. French President Emmanuel Macron suggested that the actual number of victims could be higher during his visit to Mayotte.
