Cyclone Sinto Causes Devastation in Mozambique, Killing 34 and Injuring Over 300

Cyclone Sinto has wreaked havoc in Mozambique, resulting in 34 deaths and over 300 injuries since it hit on Sunday, according to the UN’s humanitarian coordination office. The small French island of Mayotte suffered the most, with estimates suggesting hundreds or thousands may have died there. In total, 174,158 people were affected, with significant damage to homes and fishing vessels recorded. The cyclone, with winds of 260 km/h and heavy rainfall, is now moving towards Malawi and is expected to weaken near Zimbabwe.
