Cyprus President Proposes Meeting with Turkish Cypriot Leader to Discuss New Crossings
Cyprus President Nicos Christodoulides has proposed specific dates in January to meet with Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar to discuss the opening of new crossing points. Government spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis indicated that they are awaiting Tatar’s response regarding the meeting, which may take place between January 20-21, 2025. Furthermore, Letymbiotis emphasized Nicosia’s commitment to resuming negotiations under the auspices of the United Nations, in line with relevant Security Council Resolutions.
