Data Recovery Initiated from Jeju Air Plane Crash Black Box in South Korea

Investigators in South Korea have begun extracting data from the black boxes of a Jeju Air plane crash that resulted in the deaths of 179 people. The dossier includes flight and cockpit recordings that offer insight into the disaster, which occurred during landing at Muan International Airport. A critical flight data recorder will be sent to the U.S. for analysis, with assistance from the National Transportation Safety Board. Meanwhile, the country is in a state of mourning, having identified all victims and scaled down New Year’s celebrations in honor of the deceased.
