Deadly Earthquake Strikes Tibet, Leaving 32 Dead and 38 Injured

A powerful earthquake measuring 6.8 struck the Tibetan region of China, resulting in at least 32 fatalities and 38 injuries. The quake, centered in Tingri near Mount Everest, caused significant structural damage with many homes collapsing. While Chinese authorities reported the quake’s magnitude at 6.8, the US Geological Survey indicated it was 7.1. The area is prone to seismic activity due to the collision of tectonic plates. Rescue operations are underway, and evacuations are being conducted to mitigate risks from aftershocks.
