Delta Flight Faces Engine Failure During Takeoff in Las Vegas

On October 28, a Delta Air Lines Airbus A330-300 encountered a critical engine failure while attempting to take off from Las Vegas, carrying 270 passengers and crew. As the aircraft accelerated, thick black smoke was seen emerging from one of its Pratt & Whitney engines, leading the crew to abort the takeoff procedure. Emergency services responded quickly, and all aboard were safely evacuated without injuries. The flight was delayed for over nine hours as passengers were transferred to a replacement plane. The FAA has launched an investigation into the engine malfunction.
