Demolition Efforts Underway Following Severe Flooding in Rhodes
In the aftermath of significant flooding caused by the Trianteni River in Ialysos, demolition crews have started to dismantle entrances of a historic hotel situated at the river’s mouth. The hotel, among the oldest on Rhodes, features a low bridge that serves as a barrier before the river meets the sea. Nearby, a deteriorating wooden footbridge was also taken down, and roadworks commenced to clear the riverbed. Notable officials, including Governor George Hatzimarkos and Rhodes Mayor Alexandros Koliadis, oversaw the recovery efforts.
