Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, who passed away at the age of 100, will be honored with a state funeral on January 9 in Washington, D.C. Following a public viewing at the U.S. Capitol, a service at Washington National Cathedral will be held. Prior to the state funeral, a motorcade will travel through his hometown of Plains, Georgia, and a public service will take place at the Carter Presidential Center. Carter will ultimately be buried alongside his wife, Rosalynn, in a private ceremony in Plains.
