Devastating Fires Force Evacuations Near Los Angeles
On January 7 and 8, multiple wildfires broke out near Los Angeles, California, prompting the evacuation of nearly 30,000 residents. The ‘Palisades Fire’ and ‘Eaton Fire’ have already consumed approximately 2,300 hectares (5,660 acres) of land. Around 1,400 firefighters are currently battling the flames, with hundreds more en route. Only one firefighter has been reported injured amidst the chaos. High winds and dry conditions are exacerbating the situation, affecting many neighborhoods known for their affluent residents.
