A total of 42 researchers from Democritus University of Thrace have been recognized in two prestigious lists of the world’s top scholars for 2023, released by Stanford University. Notably, seven of these distinguished researchers hail from departments that merged into the university earlier this year from the International University of Greece. Among them are prominent figures like Professor Nikolaos Papana and Environmental Engineer Alexandra Gemitsi. The analysis evaluated over 6 million scientists based on the impact and citations of their published work, highlighting those who have significantly advanced their fields.
