Discovery of Possible Mass Grave Near Damascus Raises Humanitarian Concerns
A rescue worker from the White Helmets and an activist reported the discovery of a probable mass grave containing the remains of prisoners and combatants killed during the Syrian conflict. Located about 30 kilometers northeast of Damascus, the site revealed several graves covered by concrete slabs, with bags of human remains visible, including a skull. This finding comes amid efforts to address the plight of countless missing prisoners in war-torn Syria, where over half a million people have lost their lives in the conflict that has spanned 13 years.
