Discovery of the Mysterious Bathydevius Caudactylus in the Deep Sea

Researchers from the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute have unveiled a new deep-sea creature, named the ‘Mystery Mollusc,’ scientifically known as Bathydevius caudactylus. This unique mollusc, capable of bioluminescence, showcases distinctive features such as a hood-like structure and appendages resembling fingers. The discovery, captured on video by a remote-operated underwater robot, highlights the creature’s ability to evade predators and catch prey. As a result of its unusual characteristics, the species has been classified into a new family called Bathydeviidae.
