Dmitry Medvedev Accuses Norwegian Ship of Ignoring Distress Call from Sinking Russian Cargo Vessel
Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, condemned the Norwegian-flagged ship Oslo Carrier 3 for allegedly refusing to assist the crew of the Russian cargo ship Ursa Major, which sank in the Mediterranean Sea after an explosion. Medvedev described the act as unforgivable, while the Kremlin’s spokesperson stated it violates international maritime law. The Norwegian company Bulkship Management AS denied the accusations, claiming they were instructed to wait for rescuers, emphasizing the crew was not in immediate danger during the incident.
