Drone Attack in Sudan’s Darfur Claims 38 Lives Amid Ongoing Conflict

A drone attack by paramilitary forces in Darfur, Sudan, has resulted in at least 38 fatalities, a rise from an initial report of three deaths. The attack targeted the Awlad al-Rif neighborhood in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state. The ongoing conflict between army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and his former deputy, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, has escalated since April 2023. The war has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and displaced over 11 million people, creating a severe humanitarian crisis in the region.
