A drone delivery mishap in Balbriggan, north Dublin, resulted in a minor injury to a man mowing his lawn as a propeller blade fell off the drone. The Air Accident Investigation Unit (AAIU) revealed that the incident occurred on July 14, 2022, when a bolt securing the blade fractured during flight, leading to drone vibrations and a failed electric motor. The drone was operated by Manna, which has since revised its propeller maintenance procedures. While the injured man received a small cut, no serious harm was reported. The AAIU found the drone’s flight conducted safely and made no safety recommendations.
