Dutch Citizens Prefer Domestic Focus Over International Issues, Survey Reveals

A recent study by the Social and Cultural Planning Agency (SCP) indicates that 63% of Dutch citizens prefer the government to concentrate more on domestic issues rather than international matters. While recognizing the importance of global cooperation, many feel the government overemphasizes its role on the world stage, especially regarding asylum and climate policies. Previous surveys in 2011 and 2018 reflected similar sentiments, and the current geopolitical climate, influenced by the war in Ukraine, has intensified concerns about international security and defense spending.
