EasyJet Leads Airline Industry with Innovative Lightweight Paint to Reduce Fuel Emissions
EasyJet has announced a new lower-weight paint method for its aircraft, becoming the first airline to implement such technology. This approach, developed with Mankiewicz Aviation Coatings, aims to reduce fuel burn by 27kg per plane, potentially saving 1,296 tonnes of fuel annually once fully implemented by 2030. The initiative aligns with EasyJet’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and improving operational efficiency, reflecting broader industry trends towards sustainability, particularly in light of the UK’s new sustainable aviation fuel mandate.
