Eight Adriatic and Ionian Countries Unite to Protect Wildlife Through New Project
Eight countries from the Adriatic and Ionian regions are collaborating on a new initiative to protect bears, wolves, lynxes, and jackals. Coordinated by the University of Udine in Italy, the project aims to enhance cross-border monitoring and community involvement over the next three years with a budget of approximately €1.67 million, largely funded by the European Union. This effort includes the northeastern Alps, Dinaric Alps, and Pindus, supporting local ecosystems that host significant populations of these species.
