An elderly woman in Corfu has been scammed by fraudsters impersonating a doctor from the General Hospital. The scammers claimed that a relative was involved in a car accident and urgently needed money for surgery. Believing their story, the victim handed over valued items worth €10,000 and €500 in cash to an unknown individual near her home. The incident is under investigation by the Corfu Crimes Detection and Investigation Sub-Directorate.
