Electric Cars Account for 25% of UK Sales in November Amid Discounting

In November, one in four cars sold in the UK was electric, marking the 11th consecutive month of growth in electric vehicle sales, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). This increase was largely due to significant discounts totaling approximately £4 billion. While some manufacturers may struggle to meet government electric vehicle sales targets, flexibilities in regulations could prevent penalties. Despite the rise in electric vehicle registrations, overall new car sales have declined, particularly in the petrol and diesel segments.
