Electricity Outages in Transnistria Amidst Russian Gas Supply Cuts

Transnistrian authorities have announced scheduled electricity outages for residential consumers starting January 3, due to halted deliveries of vital Russian natural gas. The local economy ministry stated that the energy consumption has exceeded production capacity, leading to the outages. Up to 3,000 households are currently without power and heating. Meanwhile, Moldova faces no immediate electricity shortages thanks to assistance from neighboring Romania and significant conservation measures.
