Emergency Financial Aid Distributed to Flood-Affected Businesses in Thessaly, Greece
The Greek Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, in collaboration with regional authorities, is actively implementing a financial aid framework for businesses impacted by the severe flooding in September 2023. As of December 2024, over €179 million has been disbursed as an advance payment to more than 20,000 beneficiaries, including businesses and agricultural units in the affected regions. Deputy Minister Christos Triantopoulos emphasized the government’s commitment to rapid aid disbursement following Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ directives.
