Deputy Minister of Interior for Macedonia and Thrace, Costas Gioulekas, has made an emergency trip to Mount Athos after a series of earthquakes were recorded. He convened a meeting to reassure residents, stating that seismologists are monitoring the situation closely with no major cause for concern. Joining him are engineers from the Center for the Preservation of Mount Athos Heritage and seismologist Manolis Skordilis. They are set to meet with the Athonite leadership to discuss ongoing seismic activity.
