The Mayor of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands, Stefanos Poutlenos, has requested funding from the General Directorate of Waters for urgent water management projects in response to unprecedented drought conditions. The proposed projects include drilling new wells, enhancing existing water networks, and replacing outdated pipes, with a total budget exceeding €2.7 million. These initiatives aim to bolster the water supply in several local communities, including the city of Corfu and coastal tourist areas.
