ESA Launches Proba-3 Satellites for Unique Solar Observation Mission
The European Space Agency is set to launch two Proba-3 satellites from the east coast of India, which will fly in perfect synchronization to create artificial solar eclipses. One satellite will block sunlight, allowing the other to measure the solar corona, a phenomenon that is typically only observable during rare total solar eclipses. Additionally, another satellite, Sentinel-1C, will launch later to monitor Earth’s surface using radar technology, detecting land subsidence and icebergs. The launches underscore ESA’s commitment to innovative space exploration.
