Efforts are underway for the operation of the Maritime Academy in Neapolis, Laconia. The foundational decree was issued on February 2, 2023, with the Region of Peloponnese supporting the initiative through the ‘Peloponnese 2021-2027’ program, allocating €1.6 million for technical and educational equipment. Laconia MP Thanasis Davakis announced the establishment of the school’s administration as preparations continue for student enrollment in the upcoming academic year. The Ministry aims to upgrade maritime education with an additional €19.8 million from the sectoral ESF program.
