António Costa, the new President of the European Council, has sent early invitations for a leaders’ meeting in Brussels, which will focus on the situation in Ukraine and the EU’s global commitment. The December 19 summit will discuss support for Ukraine against Russian aggression, geopolitical strategies, and the establishment of an Ethics Body led by former EU Council President Herman Van Rompuy. A separate summit on December 18 will address regional integration and geopolitical challenges concerning the Western Balkans.
