EURO 4.1 Million in Aid for Greek Livestock Farmers Affected by Severe Weather
On November 8, Greece’s Agricultural Insurance Organization (ELGA) will transfer €4.1 million to livestock farmers impacted by the severe weather events known as Daniel and Elias. A statement from ELGA indicated that approximately 100 farmers are still awaiting resolution on their cases, which are undergoing review. Agriculture Minister Kostas Tsiaras has requested the activation of Article 17 to address these claims. The government aims to rectify any errors made in the assessment process while ensuring fair treatment of affected farmers without the need for an appeals process.
