In a forthcoming interview with Sky Sports, Marinakis expressed ambitions to expand his football portfolio. While Vasco da Gama’s president, Jussimar Pedrinho, remained cautious about the negotiations, Marinakis highlighted his journey in football, having previously purchased Olympiakos in 2010 and investing in other clubs. His controversial history also includes past allegations regarding match-fixing, from which he was cleared.
