Examination of Dutch Companies Linked to Russian Firms Reveals Accountant Issues

An investigation into eleven Dutch limited liability companies affiliated with Russian parent firms revealed financial oversight challenges. The review focused on subsidiaries of major companies such as X5 Retail and Gazprom Neft. While all companies were previously audited by major firms like PwC, EY, or KPMG, none currently have such oversight due to sanctions imposed on their owners, notably Igor Kesaev. While some firms managed to engage smaller accounting offices, the auditing status of one Rosneft subsidiary remains unclear.
