Exhibition of Nautical Maps by Professor Paraskevas Savvaidis at the Macedonian Struggle Museum
The Macedonian Museum of Struggle and Modern History is hosting an exhibition titled ‘Between the Waves and the Maps of the Aegean,’ featuring nautical maps from the 19th century. The exhibition opens on November 22, 2024, with keynote remarks by Konstantinos P. Gioulekas, the Deputy Minister of Interior responsible for Macedonia and Thrace. It highlights the significant work of British hydrographers in mapping the Aegean Sea’s coastline and its historical context, showcasing five thematic sections from hydrography to archaeology.
