The exhibition ‘La Saga des grands magasins. De 1850 à nos jours’ at the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine in Paris showcases 500 original works that illustrate the evolution of department stores from 1850 to present. Through its immersive scenography, the exhibition explores the impact of these commercial spaces on society, architecture, and culture over the years. It highlights the golden age of department stores, their transformation into selling machines, and their efforts to reinvent themselves in response to contemporary challenges, running until April 2025.
