A 38-year-old man, Ramzy A., has been extradited from Dubai to France after being sentenced to five years in prison for drug trafficking. He fled in 2020 with help from airport border police, and was later convicted for repeat offenses. The extradition was facilitated by a delegation of French magistrates visiting the UAE. Ramzy A. is due to be retried on January 29, 2024. Investigators revealed that he operated a cocaine distribution network with significant earnings estimated at 1.8 million euros.
