FAA Suspends Flights to Haiti Following Gunfire Incidents

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has imposed a 30-day ban on U.S. airlines operating flights to Haiti due to recent gunfire incidents involving two passenger aircraft. On Monday, a Spirit Airlines flight approaching Port-au-Prince was shot at, forcing an emergency landing in the Dominican Republic. Additionally, a JetBlue Airways flight returning to New York was also hit by gunfire after leaving the Haitian capital. The FAA’s directive restricts all U.S. airline activities in Haiti’s airspace below 10,000 feet during this period.
