FAI General Assembly to Vote on Aligned Football Calendar for Irish Football
The FAI’s general assembly is set to vote on a significant change to Irish football, aiming for an aligned calendar for both youth and adult amateur levels. FAI President Paul Cooke emphasizes the importance of this vote, which if approved, will start implementation from January 2026. The proposed structure aims to unify the fragmented grassroots leagues in Ireland, encouraging year-round participation and aligning with UEFA standards. A 51% majority is needed to pass these changes, which have received full board support.
