Families of Nottingham Attack Victims Welcome Review of Homicide Law

The families of three victims killed in the Nottingham attacks have expressed support for a review of homicide law and sentencing frameworks. The Law Commission, following a request from Lord Chancellor Shabana Mahmood, will revisit an 18-year-old report on homicide law, which includes examining tiers of murder and manslaughter and addressing issues around diminished responsibility. Victims’ relatives state that current laws are outdated and contribute to ongoing trauma, and they advocate for necessary changes to prevent future injustices.
