Farmers Protest at Lidl Warehouse in France for Fair Compensation
A group of around 30 farmers from Coordination Rurale protested outside a Lidl logistics platform in Rousset, Bouches-du-Rhône, on November 14, demanding better pay. This demonstration precedes a nationwide mobilization planned for the following Monday. The farmers criticized the current purchasing practices of retailers and called for fair compensation for producers, citing the EU-Mercosur trade agreement as detrimental. Laurent Dubost, the local secretary of Coordination Rurale, emphasized the financial struggles faced by farmers and the need for proactive consumer support for French produce.
