A man in his 40s has been sentenced to 17-and-a-half years in prison for the rape and sexual assault of four of his daughters, covering offenses from 2005 to 2021. The Central Criminal Court in Cork heard that he pleaded guilty to numerous charges, including rape and attempted rape, from a total of 128 counts. Ms Justice Karen O’Connor condemned the man’s abuse of his paternal role, emphasizing the betrayal of trust involved in these prolonged and egregious acts against his children.
