The International Automobile Federation (FIA) has identified the development of fully sustainable fuels as a critical area for reducing carbon emissions in the transport sector. With the introduction of 100% sustainable fuels certified for various races commencing in 2021, the FIA aims to ensure that only sustainable fuels from advanced sustainable sources are used in Formula 1 starting in 2026. President Mohammed Ben Sulayem emphasized the link between innovation and sustainability as the FIA leads the charge for eco-friendly practices in motorsports.
