Fine Gael Unveils Comprehensive Child Welfare Policy
Fine Gael has announced a new policy aimed at enhancing child welfare, dubbed ‘Giving our children the best start in life.’ Key proposals include a permanent double child benefit in August, a cap on childcare costs at €200 per month, and the expansion of the Hot School Meals Programme. The plan also emphasizes stronger child protection measures, the creation of 30,000 early learning slots, and a Pay-Related Parents’ Benefit to support parents during early childcare. The policy will be formally introduced by Fine Gael leaders today, focusing on improving support for families in Ireland.
