First Day of Ticketed Operations for Thessaloniki Metro

The Thessaloniki Metro launched its first day of ticketed operations, following a previous period of free access. Passenger attendance was noticeably low, and several issues arose, including problems with ticket machines that do not accept €20 bills. Standard tickets cost €0.60 and are valid for 70 minutes, while a daily ticket is priced at €2.50. Various travel card options are available, including monthly and quarterly passes. Children under six can travel free of charge. Detailed information can be found on the official metro website.
