For the first time, the Massaco, an isolated indigenous community in the Amazon rainforest of Brazil, have been photographed thanks to automatic cameras deployed by the National Foundation of Indigenous Peoples in Brazil. The photos aim to enhance understanding of the community’s demographics. With a population that has doubled over three decades despite external pressures, experts highlight the challenges these communities face in resource management and the ongoing fight for land preservation in the face of deforestation.
