On the night of January 4-5, 2025, the first snowfall of the year graced the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region in France, delighting night owls and capturing the attention of social media users who shared stunning photographs. While the snow brought moments of joy and picturesque scenes, it also prompted an orange alert for snow and ice in the Hauts-de-France region. Although the alert was lifted the following day, temperatures rose quickly, melting the snow. Tragically, the weather-related incidents included a fatal accident in Bourgogne, where a 20-year-old man lost his life on the A6 highway.
