The Kozani Water Supply and Sewerage Company has initiated the flood protection project for the southwestern side of Kozani with the signing of a contract with the contractor. The project, budgeted at €10.85 million and funded by the Regional Development Fund, aims to enhance the city’s resilience to flooding through the construction of a new drainage system and upgrades to existing networks. Completion is expected in December 2026. The chairman, Panagiotis Matiakis, emphasized the importance of this project in addressing climate change impacts.
