Flood Victims in Giannouli Demand Action 15 Months After Disaster
Fifteen months after devastating floods affected the 930 families of the Giannouli Workers’ Housing, representatives of the flood victims’ committee criticized government failures to address ongoing issues. Spokesperson T. Tsaples voiced concerns about the lack of adequate compensation and essential protective measures against future floods. The committee highlighted promises made by Deputy Minister for Civil Protection Christos Triantopoulos that have not been fulfilled, leaving many residents still unable to return to their homes. The committee’s demands include reparations and proper flood defenses, which remain unmet.
