Flu Hospitalizations Surge in Ireland as Health Service Calls for Public Cooperation

The Health Service Executive (HSE) reported a sharp increase in hospitalizations due to flu, reaching 869 cases. CEO Bernard Gloster anticipates that cases may peak around 900 in the coming week. The HSE noted an uptick in emergency department visits and admissions compared to the previous year. Gloster emphasized the importance of public cooperation in managing flu spread and advised on when to seek medical attention. He also acknowledged staffing challenges but reassured that patient flow is better than last year.
