Food Safety Authority Issues Six Closure Orders to Food Businesses Due to Hygiene Violations
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) issued six closure orders to food businesses last month, primarily due to rodent infestations and poor hygiene practices. Notable closures included Universal Food Wholesale Distribution Limited in Portlaoise and Day to Day in Navan for evidence of rodent activity. The Bombay Kebab House in Tipperary was also closed for inadequate food safety management. FSAI CEO Greg Dempsey emphasized the importance of regular checks and compliance with food safety regulations to protect consumer health.
